Linden Hall Surgery in Newport is seeking a motivated Healthcare Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient management and possess excellent organisational and communication skills. A qualification such as an NVQ Level 3/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support, along with experience in Primary or Secondary Care, is essential. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are important as the role is evolving.

Key responsibilities include performing new patient health checks, ECG recording, phlebotomy, chaperoning, and managing laboratory samples. The Healthcare Assistant will also maintain surgical equipment and monitoring processes, assist in patient health assessments, and support GPs during minor operations. Furthermore, the role involves promoting health and well-being awareness, collecting health-related data, and performing various clinical tasks such as blood pressure checks and minor dressings. We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly practice.

You will have experience and confidence in managing patients face to face and have good organisational and communication skills.

Our ideal candidate will hold a NVQ level 3/QCF level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support or equivalent and have experience of working in Primary Care/Secondary Care or the Community.

This HCA role within the Practice is developing and therefore a willingness to learn and a flexible approach is essential.

Vaccine cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Clearing and re stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
