The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and experienced Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist for a part-time, fixed term position at The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, lasting until August 31, 2025. The role requires the successful candidate to work 30 hours a week over four days, contributing to the rehabilitation and discharge goals of patients in an acute medical setting. Candidates should have prior NHS experience and will receive supervision and mentorship from a highly specialist team to develop their clinical and leadership skills.

As an autonomous practitioner, the Occupational Therapist will assess, manage, and interpret complex cases while collaborating closely with Physiotherapists, Therapy Support Workers, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and timely discharge. The role also involves providing specialist advice, maintaining effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team, and supporting the ongoing training and appraisal of team members. Additionally, the post holder will participate in audits to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
