The Facilities Management Assistant (FMA) role at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool requires 15 hours of work per week, from Monday to Friday, 4 PM to 7 PM. This position is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for service users, visitors, and staff. Duties include cleaning clinical and ward areas, waste management, basic food preparation, and temperature monitoring. Applicants should ideally have experience in a hospital setting, although training will be provided. Key responsibilities involve adhering to Infection Control, COSHH, and Health & Safety procedures, as well as participating in stock control and supporting the auditing process for cleanliness.

The role emphasises teamwork, communication, and compliance with relevant policies and security protocols while requiring the assistant to use their initiative in various domestic and catering responsibilities. Contact with patients, staff, visitors, and contractors is expected, and the FMA must maintain high cleanliness standards in accordance with national expectations. Candidates will perform a variety of tasks, often unsupervised, and must demonstrate a commitment to providing quality service in a flexible manner across different areas of the Trust.
