The Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse position at the Woodland Neonatal Unit in Watford offers an opportunity for experienced neonatal nurses to join a dedicated team in a busy local neonatal unit. Candidates are expected to provide high-quality, evidence-based care for infants requiring intensive and specialized support while also managing a 6-bedded Transitional Care Unit. The role involves assessment and creation of care programs, shift coordination, and providing leadership and support to junior staff, including pre-registration student nurses. The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical knowledge, previous management experience, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining a focus on family-centered care.

In this role, the successful applicant will actively contribute to practice development and foster a supportive learning environment, offering clinical, educational, and emotional assistance to parents and caregivers. Responsibilities include taking charge of the unit in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and effectively managing clinical risks while utilizing interdisciplinary resources for guidance.
