The Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medicine Management Technician to deliver a medicines management service in designated prisons, including HMP Rochester. Key responsibilities include administering medicines as per valid prescriptions, working in the dispensary, overseeing repeat prescription processes, and supervising dispensary staff. The technician will also conduct clinical visits to assess and replenish stock, ensure compliance with safety and expiry protocols, and support pharmacists in advising staff and inmates on medication use. The role entails managing one’s workload, contributing to audits, and maintaining high standards in adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.

Candidates must possess the ability to comply with security protocols within the prison environment and will undergo National Security Vetting as part of the employment process. Previous experience is essential, and a commitment to continual professional development in pharmacy is expected. This role requires strong communication skills and interaction with various internal and external stakeholders within the healthcare and prison systems.
