The Lung Pathway Navigator Assistant position at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust in Truro is a fixed-term role for 24 months aimed at supporting the early stages of lung cancer patient pathways. The assistant will be responsible for identifying and booking patients according to the National Optimum Lung Cancer Pathway and other suspected pathways. The role requires direct communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals while handling sensitive information related to cancer care.

Additionally, the assistant will coordinate appointments and assessments, manage patient documentation, and support the multi-disciplinary cancer teams to ensure efficient care and timely meetings. Strong communication skills, empathy, and understanding are essential for this role, as well as the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders to navigate the health and social care system efficiently.
