We are looking to appoint Pharmacy Technicians who are interested in working within Aseptic Services but would still like to maintain their clinical skills.
You will work as part of a team and rotate supporting all areas under the remit of Aseptic and Cancer services; this includes Aseptic Services, Radiopharmacy, Pharmacy Outsourced Service and the Clinical Ward Service.
The successful applicant will have post registration experience as a Pharmacy Technician along with excellent organisational skills.
We are a very friendly team and have great working relationships with the clinicians and nursing staff within cancer services.
This post may be offered under Annex 21 AfC Terms & Conditions or as a progressional post, subject to experience, competency and suitability.
The main duties include:
Supports the duties of the Senior Pharmacy Technicians and the Quality Systems Specialist who lead on the following services: Aseptic Services, Radiopharmacy, Clinical Services, Quality Assurance and Pharmacy Outsourced Service, in liaison with the Pharmacy Team Leader - Cancer Services and Pharmacy Team Lead - Aseptic Services and Clinical Nutrition.
Participates in the preparation activities of a wide range of aseptic products including cytotoxic chemotherapy, monoclonal agents, TPN and radiopharmaceuticals.
Collaborates with Quality Assurance staff to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practise (GMP)
Supports and supervises appropriate trainees, including Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers (ATOs), Pharmacy Technicians, Foundation Year trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacists, as required.
