The role of "Advanced Specialist Pharmacist Education and Practice Educator" at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust involves a dynamic pharmacist committed to education and training, particularly in developing future pharmacy professionals. This position, which is a partnership between Derriford Hospital and the University of Bath, will focus on teaching the newly launched MPharm program at the University of Plymouth, supporting undergraduate education through lectures, workshops, and supervision of projects. The post holder will also engage in practice research, collaborate on training strategies for trainee pharmacists, manage designated pharmacy staff, and support the clinical competencies necessary for non-medical prescribing.

In addition to educational responsibilities, the educator will participate in local and regional partnerships to enhance the training strategy and promote pharmacy careers. The role requires flexibility in working across both clinical and educational settings, with a commitment to student pastoral care and quality improvement initiatives. The workload is structured to accommodate term-time teaching, ensuring that the educator is actively involved in both the academic and clinical development of pharmacy trainees.
