An Exciting opportunity has arisen in our Children's Emergency Department for any Band 5 nurse who is looking to progress/develop or a current band 6 nurse who would like to experience a different area.
CED provides emergency and urgent care to children in and around Derby and surrounding areas from birth to 18 years. It consists of a Children's Emergency Department and Paediatric Observation Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.
If you are dynamic, highly motivated and dedicated to making a difference within the emergency care setting for children and young people then this is the opportunity for you.
This post may involve cross site working with the Paediatric Urgent Care pathway at Queens Hospital Burton.
You will need to be able to demonstrate post registration experience in a Paediatric Urgent Care or Emergency Setting, with in charge experience.
You will assist the Senior Sister in ensuring care delivery and management of CED is implemented within agreed frameworks in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures, values and behaviours.
The Sister/Charge Nurse takes responsibility and is accountable to delegated nursing care within the clinical environment. They provide nursing leadership and are accountable for patient, public and staff experience. They will lead, offer clinical advice and support management of services to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate nursing care.
The role involves working as part of a nursing and medical team to provide urgent and emergency care to babies and children within CED at Royal Derby Hospital. You will be responsible for triaging and prioritising babies and children's medical needs as well as streaming them to alternative services and pathways.
You will plan, implement and evaluate holistic, individualised patient care in a safe and caring environment in the most efficient and clinically effective way whilst acting asthe patient's advocate and maintaining privacy and dignity.
Applicants must hold RSCN or RN child branch qualification.
