MATERNITY MIDWIFERY NEONATAL NHS SMALL FOR GESTATIONAL AGE
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a passionate and proactive Midwife to cover maternity leave for a part-time position (18.5 hours) focused on the Growth Assessment Protocol (GAP). The role involves collaboration with midwifery, obstetric, and neonatal teams to implement and monitor the GAP Grow 2.0 in alignment with the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle v3. Key responsibilities include conducting fetal growth assessments, utilizing customized growth charts, managing workload independently, and ensuring staff awareness of clinical implications and referral pathways.

The successful candidate will actively participate in training, quality improvement initiatives, and audits related to the GAP/GROW pathways while contributing to the enhancement and safety of maternity services in accordance with the maternity transformation agenda. Strong communication skills and knowledge of risk factors for small for gestational age (SGA) and fetal growth restriction (FGR) are essential, as the role aims to improve care and outcomes for expectant mothers and their babies.
