Band 4: £26,530 to £29,114 a year  PERMANENT 

Are you ready to play a crucial role in delivering high-quality digital services within a dynamic healthcare environment? As an IT Support Technician, you'll be an integral part of our team, providing expert onsite support across acute, community, and mental health settings. You'll ensure our hardware and software systems are fully operational, well-maintained, and secure--making a real difference in patient care.

As an IT Support Technician, you'll become a key part of Digital Services at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. By providing IT Support to our colleagues across the Trusts community and mental health sites, you'll help to ensure that systems are maintained and supported to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently manage and resolve IT support calls, ensuring swift, effective solutions.
  • Handle installations, configurations, relocations, and decommissioning of IT hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot issues, track support calls, and promote best practices in technology use and information governance.
  • Work closely within defined policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards.

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • NVQ level 3 in IT related subject or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
  • have good standard of education GCSE 's A to C in Maths and English or equivalent,
  • be able to demonstrate a sound technical knowledge of Desktop PC hardware and software, and ability to support users of PCs and small peripheral equipment
  • have excellent interpersonal skills
  • experience of using and supporting IOS devices will be a strong benefit.
  • IT support experience within a corporate or public sector organisation would be desirable.

The role will require travel to other NHS sites within Somerset and there is also a requirement to take part in an out of hours on call rota.
