This position will be a joint role with the AMU and Diabetes & Endocrinology departments. The Diabetes and Endocrine Department provides coordination of care or direct care for patients with diabetes and endocrine conditions. It has a forward-thinking approach to service provision and works in collaboration with community teams and secondary care partners in NW London. This joint post has been created to provide direct clinical support to the expanding endocrine service and there is opportunity to work with colleagues in developing the postholder's speciality interest. The post holder will, together with his or her consultant colleagues and other health care professionals in the Directorate, provide an effective and comprehensive service for Diabetes and Endocrinology and support continuing service developments.
The postholder will also be a part of a new acute medical team which we are developing to re-envigorate and develop our acute medical and same day emergency care services. The postholder will be key to developing and leading changes to our services which we are developing to better support patient flow and education and training opportunities. Applications are invited for motivated individuals with strong leadership, education and change skills to join our team at Hillingdon Hospitals. Developing pathways and services that can be brought to our new hospital rebuild, planned to complete in 2025/6. This post consists of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), annualized as 8 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 2 Supporting Clinical Activities (SPA) shared 50% Diabetes and Endocrinology and 50% Acute Internal Medicine. The successful applicant will be a committed clinician with a track record of excellent clinical service delivery, quality improvement, teaching and training. It is a requirement of the post that every doctor takes part in annual job planning and annual appraisal as part of the revalidation of cycle.
