MRCGP qualified and GMC registered Dedicated, flexible, and patient focused 4-8 sessions a week Standard Clinic of 12 appointments Active interest in practice development Taking responsibility for a list of patients as part of a team Committed to the NHS; the team; the practice & local community About us JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Salaried Doctor Reports To: Practice Manager(s) and Partners Job Summary: The post-holder will manage a personal list and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Job Responsibilities: The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current evidence based on practice disease management protocols Providing counselling and health education Referring patients to specialists and to other care providers as appropriate Recording clear and contemporaneous IT based consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes and to meet practice targets (e.g QoF) Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care Participate in agreed practice development activities. Attend training, practice meetings and events as appropriate. Participate in supervising learners within the practice (GP Trainees and F2) Maintain a continuing professional development.
