The "Senior Staff Nurse, Infusion Suite & Haematology Day Unit" role at Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust involves delivering high-quality nursing care and setting clinical standards in the Infusion Suite and Haematology Day Unit. The post holder is responsible for patient care, which includes administering systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) and supportive treatments, while also overseeing staff management, training, and development. The nurse will collaborate with the unit manager to enhance nursing practice in alignment with hospital policies and will serve as a senior nurse, stepping in for the Sister/Charge Nurse as needed.

In addition, the role requires proficiency in administering a variety of chemotherapy regimens and complex infusions for medical, cancer, and haematology patients, along with advanced communication skills for patient and family interaction. The nurse will assess and manage potential side effects of treatments, coordinate with the pharmacy for timely treatment preparation, and provide guidance to ensure patient safety and staff professional growth.
