To provide a high standard of individualised care to sick and premature infants and their family/carers and to partake in assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care. To supervise junior staff and students as requested. To assist in the management and organisation of the nursing service in the clinical area including the teaching and management of more junior staff or those in training.

We are currently looking to appoint a suitably experienced and skilled Band 5 SCBU Staff Nurse to join our friendly team.
As a SCBU Nurse, you will need to have relevant experience at Band 5 level in neonatal/paediatric nursing. You must be confident, compassionate and clinically credible. You will also act as a mentor who is competent in the supervision of student midwives and nurses and the junior nursing team. You will have excellent interpersonal and management skills and be committed to the delivery of excellent neonatal care. You will support the Ward Manager in promoting a positive patient experience, units initiatives and Achieving Excellence.
Royal Surrey SCBU is the first neonatal unit in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Operational Delivery Network to achieve both BFI Baby Friendly Accreditation and Bliss Baby Charter Gold Award. We are passionate about working in partnership with parents.
The advert is for a full-time post, at 37.5 hours per week, internal rotation. Part-time hours will be considered, minimum of 30 hours per week.
