The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) role in the Emergency Department of Guernsey requires a clinically autonomous practitioner with advanced knowledge and skills in emergency care. The ANP will work within a 12-bedded emergency department, managing the care of approximately 23,000 patients annually, including both adults and children. In addition to clinical duties, the ANP will provide leadership and guidance in promoting quality patient care, oversee staff educational needs, and maintain high standards of practice in accordance with established guidelines. Responsibilities will encompass recruitment, performance management, and financial oversight for departmental resources. The ANP will communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and will actively contribute to auditing and research activities to enhance service delivery.
