The role of Consultant Psychiatrist in Acute Inpatient Adult Mental Health at Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust involves working with adult acute inpatient wards at Roseberry Park Hospital in Middlesbrough. The position is part of a comprehensive mental health service that includes Intensive Home Treatment, Crisis Services, and various community teams across four localities: Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, and Redcar & Cleveland. Responsibilities include acting as the Responsible Clinician for inpatients, participating in daily meetings to discuss patient care, and overseeing junior medical staff. The consultant will also engage in discharge planning meetings and collaborate with community teams to ensure continuity of care.

Additionally, the role requires shared responsibilities with another consultant, particularly in chairing the morning report meetings and managing annual leave arrangements through mutual coverage. This position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art inpatient facility that opened in 2010, with a total of 64 beds across adult mental health wards and a dedicated Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit.
