An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic dietitian, to join the community team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS working predominately at Southport Hospital but there may be some days needed at Ormskirk Hospital also. This post would suit an experienced dietitian. The purpose of this role is to provide a dietetic service to in-patients in Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals, mainly but not exclusively in nutrition support. The post-holder will manage their own caseload of adult patients - being allocated their own wards which will include medical and surgical wards.

As part of the dietetic team, the post- holder will cover and support the clinical workload of other dietitians, e.g. during annual leave. Where appropriate they will provide support to less experienced dietitians within the team.
To educate and train other health professionals including nurses, doctors, junior staff and student dietitians in relation to adult nutritional issues.
To participate in the supervision of student dietitians on clinical placement and for work experience students.
To contribute to policy development on matters relating to nutrition and dietetics.
