The Specialist Nurse role at St Georges Hospital in Morpeth involves providing assessment and short-term intervention for patients with Acute Mental Illness as part of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will collaborate closely with patients, families, and a wide range of professionals, including those from acute trusts, mental health teams, and social services, to create person-centred care plans based on comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.

Additionally, the Specialist Nurse will support the inpatient team by offering training and guidance, assess complex clinical risks, and develop risk management plans to ensure effective safeguarding. They will contribute to clinical leadership and service development, participate in audits, and lead complex case management in alignment with trust policies. The role requires working within an enhanced multi-disciplinary team, providing various learning opportunities, and ensuring high-quality care delivery to inpatients.
