Candidates must be fully trained in Elderly Care, preferably with a focus on Frailty, and hold full GMC registration with a license to practice. The position is aimed at those who have completed their Certificate of Completion of Training or are within six months of obtaining it. This role not only contributes to patient care but also supports the ongoing development of the Acute Frailty Services within the Trust.
Consultant Geriatrician / Frailty
East Sussex Healthcare NHS trust are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to join our Elderly Care team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the expansion of the Acute Frailty Service. Following a significant investment to expand our Acute Frailty Services on both acute hospital sites, we are appointing a new consultant to provide specialist care to older people living with frailty, referred to our Elderly Care team of 11 consultants across the Trust.
The appointee will work with consultant colleagues and the Acute Frailty Team to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services for local residents. The Individual appointee will be based at Conquest Hospital, but this may be subject to change depending on service need.
Individual appointees should have been fully trained and accredited in all aspects of Elderly Care, with special interests in Frailty and Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, which will complement the other two Consultant members of the Service and support the continuing development of Frailty in East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
All applicants must have a full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
