The Acute Oncology Nurse Practitioner role at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust involves providing clinical, professional, and managerial leadership within cancer services and oncology teams. The position requires autonomy in coordinating patient care, including triage, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and decision-making processes. The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical services and sustaining the strategic direction of the Acute Oncology service while ensuring compliance and a person-centered approach to care.

In addition to supporting the Acute Oncology Service, the post holder will also assist with the care of Brain, CUP, and sarcoma patients. They are expected to promote a positive workplace culture, maintain high standards of evidence-based practice, and may need to work across different sites within the East Kent Hospital Trust to fulfill service needs and facilitate staff skill development. The role emphasises the delivery of safe, effective care and the evaluation of patient experiences in line with local and national standards.
