An exciting opportunity is available for a manager to lead and manager the School Health Improvement Service (SHIPS) in Cambridgeshire.
This is a critical role to ensure the successful start-up, management, development, and continuous improvement of this service.
You will lead the service which will include coordinating the delivery of health improvement and public health programmes in education and child/youth focussed settings.

- An experienced Public Health or Registered Child Nurse, or manager, with experience in delivering and leading clinical community-based prevention and treatment services to a high quality.
- Strong leader of diverse professional groups, providing strong and effective direction and management.
- Focused on positive client outcomes
- Experienced in oversight and understanding of evidence-based health improvement and public health programmes within whole population communities.
- Experience in partnership working and community engagement.
- Experienced in data collection, collation, and reporting.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The school aged health improvement and prevention service is a new service being developed within Cambridgeshire. We are looking for a well-rounded individual to lead and manage the service who has insight and experience of education and public health.
MAIN PURPOSE
To lead and further develop the school aged health improvement and prevention service which will include coordinating the delivery of health promotion programmes in educational and Child/Youth focussed settings. Networking with relevant partners to raise the service profile and collaborate and influence services aimed at improving the health and well-being of the school aged population. Including a sexual health element, incorporating C-Card support for young people.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Manage the delivery of community services to children and young people in a variety of settings including schools, colleges, youth groups etc
- Line manages a team of coordinators who will manage a team of health improvement advisors.
- Create partnerships with community groups and key stakeholders involved in the health, well-being and education of children and young people, attending County wide meetings and events relevant to the school aged population and partner organisations.
- Liaise closely with education, health and social care services including sexual health services.
- Promote the service to ensure we hit our key performance indicators
- Collect and report data
- Complete data, finance and narrative reports for commissioners and attend contract meetings to allow scrutiny of the service delivered
- Lead on the evaluation of the service, service improvement and development of new service areas as priorities change in line with the internal, local neighbourhood and commissioner insight and evidence
