The aim of the role of the Band 7 Senior Research Midwife/Nurse is to manage and enhance the overall delivery of clinical research within the Trust by providing support and management to the existing Research team, by assisting with clinical and administrative activities related to clinical trials, from initiation to termination, in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

The post holder will assist with the set-up, maintenance, and close down of clinical studies, in accordance with local and legislation within various clinical areas. The post will include assessing patients' suitability to participate in research and innovation projects, ensuring informed consent is obtained; coordinating the logistics for patient visits and undertaking patient assessments in accordance with study protocol. All data will be recorded, including adverse and serious adverse events, in accordance with ICH-GCP. The post holder will work primarily on the Reproductive Health and Gynaecology portfolio, but may also be expected to cross cover other areas of demand.

?Candidate must lead on assessing planning and implementing high quality research that compliments the patient population, infrastructure and capabilities of the Trust

? Maintain a broad portfolio of studies

? Promote Research and Innovation to both patients and colleagues

Attend necessary MDT meetings to screen for eligible participants

Liaise with the R&I Governance team to ensure all projects have received all the necessary approvals prior to commencement

Reporting to the head of R&I, a talented individual is sought to oversee and grow the Reproductive Health and Gynaecology research portfolio and bring their skills and knowledge to the frontline to support and recruit our volunteer participants, and in turn monitor and support their research journey. The post holder will maintain high standards of clinical professional practice in relation to the healthcare of our participants.

By joining the team you will lead on the specialty assessing a wide range of projects for Trust participation. You will work as part of a team to enhance the opportunities we can offer to our community.
