The Palliative Medicine Consultant role at St Raphael's Hospice in Sutton involves leading the development and provision of specialist palliative care services, both in the community and within the hospice. The consultant will collaborate with fellow medical professionals to deliver care across various diagnoses and cultural backgrounds, and will also foster connections with teams managing patients with non-malignant diseases. Responsibilities include providing expert medical support, maintaining accurate patient records, and participating in a shared on-call service with local hospitals, alongside a commitment to professional development and service improvement.

The position is structured around a job plan of 6 Programmed Activities (PAs), including time allocated for Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) to ensure compliance with revalidation and continuing professional development. Working hours are primarily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexibility in scheduling to meet the service's needs. The successful candidate will engage in annual job planning and appraisals, ensuring that their work aligns with the hospice's mission and client requirements.
