We are recruiting for a Deputy Ward Manager who wishes to join our team on Seagrove Ward. Seagrove Ward is a six-bed mixed sex Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU); which forms part of the wider mental health acute care pathway within the integrated Isle of Wight NHS Trust. The team aim to provide collaborative and individualised patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment.

The right candidate will be imaginative, enthusiastic, and able to demonstrate excellent clinical and operational leadership skills. You will also be able to demonstrate the attributes necessary to support junior members of the team through supervision, appraisal, and clinical expertise.

We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our supportive nurse led Multi-disciplinary Team. You will receive a full induction, regular supervision, and opportunities for continuing professional development as well as support to develop within this role.

Inpatient wards /units are designed to meet the holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a working environment conducive to staff development and wellbeing. The post holder supports the delivery of the ward / unit through:

Actively promoting teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and code of conduct.Demonstrating clinical leadership and oversight in terms of the clinical practice of others.

Delivering Clinical Supervision to Junior Staff, acting as the shift lead and carrying out clinical audits where necessary.

Providing nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensuring the effective assessment formulation planning and monitoring of care given to inpatient service users; including the implementation of meaningful activity for inpatient service users and to analyse the effectiveness of these activities.
