The South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for its Out of Hours Palliative Care Team in Sunderland. This role involves delivering high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to patients in their homes, focusing on managing pain and other symptoms while providing support and guidance to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will lead a multifaceted team, promoting dignity and choice for patients while preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and facilitating swift discharges. Working within an out-of-hours service, the nurse will be accountable for maintaining care standards, supervising junior team members, and ensuring effective communication across care settings.

The position is based at St Benedicts Hospice and involves collaboration with various agencies to optimize patient care. Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to manage complex care needs, all while continuously engaging in professional development.
