The Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic early career Orthoptist for a Band 5/6 Preceptorship position at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham. The role is set within a supportive and collaborative environment, featuring a team of 5.8 WTE Orthoptists and 3 Optometrists, alongside 15 Ophthalmologists, including specialists in pediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating ocular motility and vision function issues in patients of all ages, developing and implementing care plans, and referring complex cases to Ophthalmologists when necessary.

This preceptorship role allows for professional growth, with mentorship provided throughout the training process. Candidates should possess a degree or diploma in Orthoptics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). A flexible and reliable work ethic is essential, along with a willingness to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.
