The Blackburn with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to hire a Lead Nurse for the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) team, which is dedicated to providing specialized care to patients requiring outpatient or home intravenous antimicrobial treatment. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver expert guidance on the safe administration of intravenous antimicrobials, assessing and supporting patients throughout their care journey, and ensuring adherence to clinical best practices and governance processes. The successful candidate will provide leadership for the OPAT service, facilitate patient admission avoidance, and enhance discharge procedures to optimize patient flow and reduce hospital stays.

Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication skills, be motivated and energetic, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team. Responsibilities also include developing key performance indicators, monitoring clinical practices, initiating quality improvement programs, and maintaining effective working relationships with various healthcare professionals.
