Band 4 - Senior General Therapy Assistant.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled General Therapy Assistant to work on a rotational basis across the inpatient wards here at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, largely between our Medicine and Elderly Care units.
The Therapy team provide rehabilitation, assessment and discharge planning support to inpatients within the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The successful candidate will have relevant therapy experience (either in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy) and ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will be supported by qualified therapists but there will be opportunity to work more independently as a band 4.
Supporting assessment and treatment of patients, enabling them to return home safely, supporting the progression of treatment and personal care, including assistance with mobility, transfers, toileting, dressing and meal preparation. The post holder will work alongside therapists, assistants, carers and students, assisting the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with the delivery of care including recording patient information. The post holder will also order therapeutic related supplies and equipment as required under direction of a Therapist and will work in patient's own homes, supporting the transfer of care from hospital to home.
