The University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking enthusiastic and committed therapeutic radiographers for the role of Gamma Knife Band 6 Radiographer. The position involves accurately planning and delivering radiotherapy and Gamma Knife treatments for patients with both cancer and non-cancerous conditions. The successful candidate will assist senior radiographers, contribute to the development of Gamma Knife services, and participate in an on-call rota, which may include evening and weekend work. A key aspect of the role is to ensure patient dignity and respect, manage treatment-related side effects, and maintain confidentiality while providing detailed information to patients and their families.

The role requires both technical expertise in setting up Gamma Knife treatments and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams. Therapeutic radiographers will be expected to recognize and report equipment malfunctions, evaluate patient treatment data, and ensure accurate treatment records are maintained. Continuous professional development is encouraged, with opportunities for postgraduate learning aimed at enhancing patient-centered care.
