City Hospitals Independent Commercial Enterprises Ltd (CHoICE) is seeking a Domestic Team Leader for South Tyneside District Hospital, with responsibilities extending to St Benedicts Hospice and other local facilities as needed. The role requires a flexible approach as the leader will supervise and coordinate domestic staff across multiple locations, ensuring the provision of a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key duties include supporting the Head of Service in delivering a professional and cost-effective service, maintaining strong relationships with domestic staff, and stepping into domestic roles to provide coverage when needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the domestic team, fostering effective operations, and addressing various operational challenges across the service area.

South Tyneside District Hospital is looking to recruit a Domestic Team Leader who will be required to work across South Tyneside. From time to time cover will also be required, St Benedicts Hospice in Sunderland, Clarendon (Hebburn) & Palmer Hospital (Jarrow)

A flexible approach to work and work routine is essential as you will be expected to cover several different areas possibly in the same day. Your work main work base will be South Tyneside, this is where you will spend most of your working hours, however as a Domestic Team Leader you will be expected to visit Clarendon (Hebburn) & Palmer Hospital (Jarrow) on occasion some other locations.

To co-ordinate, supervise the domestic staff working within the Trust, and to provide support to the Head of Service.

To Assist the Head of Service to develop and deliver a professional, quality, cost effective service to provide and maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for patients, visitors and staff. This will involve establishing a detailed knowledge of the service provided and developing close working relationships with staff in domestic services and the users of the service.

To provide ongoing daily support to the domestic team, stepping into a domestic role as the service requires (this may be daily to provide cover)

To supervise and leadership to domestic staff in the most cost-effective way.
