The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust has an opening for a Receptionist within the busy Emergency Department in Reading. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work effectively in a team and independently. The Receptionist will be responsible for registering patients, assisting clinical staff with administrative tasks, and managing patient interactions in a compassionate manner. The position demands attention to detail, flexibility for a 24-hour shift pattern, and ideally, experience with electronic patient records (EPR).

Key responsibilities include ensuring smooth patient registration, maintaining accurate patient records, coordinating appointment follow-ups, and preparing documentation for the Coroner's office when necessary. The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, providing support and reassurance. Adherence to the trust's policies and procedures is essential, along with the ability to adapt to the evolving needs within the Emergency Care Directorate.
