Advanced Physiotherapist Orthopaedic Inpatients with Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our musculoskeletal physiotherapy team. The team is led by Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners and includes advanced, senior, junior physiotherapists and assistants. This is an exciting post working within the orthopaedic inpatient setting. You will work with children and young people who have undergone elective or trauma surgery including orthopaedic oncology, spinal surgery and major trauma. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, children and families in order to deliver high levels of care. The post offers the opportunity to work within an inpatient orthopaedic setting and requires the therapist to effectively assess, treat and lead the care of children undergoing elective and trauma surgery including orthopaedic oncology, spinal and major trauma. You will work as part of an inpatient trauma team which also covers the paediatric burn service which you will be able to support. There will be the expectation of knowledge of working with paediatric orthopaedic conditions either at a band 7 level or as an experienced band 6. You will be able to provide decisive and effective therapy input and have a flexible approach when working under pressure. You will need to demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within the multidisciplinary team. Supervision and teaching of rotational band 6, band 5, assistant staff and students is an essential part of the role. You will have an interest in research and audit in order to continue to improve knowledge and skills in the area as well as service development. You will participate in a comprehensive in-service training programme and individual performance review scheme. There will be an expectation to participate in respiratory or orthopaedic out of hours work, dependant on experience.
