The Specialty Doctor in Orthogeriatrics role at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton-in-Ashfield offers an opportunity to join a thriving Department of Geriatrics, focusing on improving care for frail elderly patients with fragility fractures. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Orthogeriatricians and the Orthopaedic team to ensure timely and appropriate management of elderly patients, particularly those with hip fractures. Responsibilities include conducting ward rounds, handling referrals, attending trauma meetings, engaging in audit and research activities, and liaising effectively with the multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should have at least four years of hospital service, including experience in Medicine and Geriatrics, and must hold full registration with the General Medical Council. The position emphasises independent and proactive medical input, while providing support to orthopaedic doctors, with additional opportunities for professional development available. The department is in a phase of growth and aims to enhance patient care through an integrated approach.
