The CAMHS directorate in North Yorkshire, York, and Selby locality of TEWV is comprised of the two York Community CAMHS teams based at Orca House the Selby team based at Worsley Court, the Harrogate Team based at Dragon Parade, the Scarborough Team based at Lake House and the Northallerton Team based at North Moor House.
This post will provide input into Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale part of the NY and Y service. Specifically, this service is commissioned by the North Yorkshire CCG
It has a Single Point of Access service staffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a telephone consultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to all referrals and help young people and their families with the process of navigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. The service works with a model of brief intervention to empower young people and their families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plans are designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, in order to provide high quality evidence-based care.
This post arises because the current post holder is moving into higher training.
This is an 8 PA post providing Speciality Grade Doctor input to the Scarborough CAMHS (with regular consultant supervision from Dr McMahon locum consultant and additional supervision for ADHD cases from Dr Alcorn). The post holder will contribute to the teams performance objectives and, in terms of clinical work, is expected to achieve an average of 12 direct patient contacts per week, representing a mix of new and review appointments, including some emergency assessments under supervision. The post holder is expected to hold a mixed caseload of both ADHD and generic CAMHS cases. The post holder will be responsible, alongside consultant colleagues, for delivery of mental health services up to a young persons 18th birthday for the population of Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale. Although we have a clinic model, there will be an occasional requirement to perform domiciliary and community visits with the support of other team members.The post holder joining the team will be expected to work in accordance with GMC guidance for working in multiagency and multidisciplinary teams and will be expected to work flexibly.
The post will follow a 6.5 PA (Direct Clinical Care): 1.5 PA (Supporting Professional Activities) job plan. This will allow the post holder to develop a protected day each week to pursue CESR and CPD activities. Active encouragement will be given to pursuing CESR and duties of the postholder can be adapted over time to ensure a wide range of appropriate experiences
