The role of Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust involves providing mental health services to children and young people in the Scarborough, Whitby, and Ryedale areas. Working within the CAMHS directorate, the post holder will contribute to a multidisciplinary team aimed at delivering high quality, evidence-based care through a model of brief intervention. Responsibilities include managing a mixed caseload of ADHD and generic CAMHS cases, achieving approximately 12 direct patient contacts each week, and engaging in both clinic and community visits. The position offers 8 programmed activities, with a structured job plan allowing for professional development and training opportunities.

The successful candidate will receive supervision from experienced consultants and is expected to collaborate with various agencies to support the mental health of individuals up to 18 years old. Flexibility in work arrangements and adherence to GMC guidelines in a team environment are essential. This role is designed to facilitate the development of skills and experience required for further professional accreditation, such as the CESR.
