The Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a Semi-skilled Maintenance Assistant to join the Estates Operational Maintenance team at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen. In this role, the successful candidate will assist tradespersons and work independently on maintenance tasks as allocated by senior staff. The position involves being part of a small team dedicated to maintaining plant and equipment to support clinical departments, ensuring they can effectively treat patients.

The Health Board emphasises the importance of bilingualism and encourages Welsh speakers to apply, though support is available for staff to learn the language during employment. Applications are invited for the post of Semi-skilled Maintenance Assistant within the site based Estates Operational Maintenance team at Glangwili General Hospital.

To carry out the duties of a semi-skilled maintenance worker within a busy department at the hospital. This will be assisting all the tradespersons as well as working on your own, with tasks allocated by senior workers at the site.

To work within a small team of other semi skilled operatives under the directions of senior Managers, Engineers and personnel.

The Semi-skilled Assistant will be part of an estates maintenance team which includes various craftsperson's ensuring that plant and equipment are maintained to an appropriate standard to support clinical service departments in their prime task of treating patients. The appointed individual will support the site operational management.

The post-holder will be an integral part of a strong site based locality team structure.
