Are you currently a Band 5 or Band 6 Adult Speech and Language Therapist with experience in dysphagia and communication looking for a new challenge?
We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate with a special interest in acute stroke to come and work as a member of the Therapy Team covering our 20 bedded Acute Stroke unit.
The post holder will provide specialist swallow and communication assessment and intervention for this patient caseload. You will be supported by a Band 7 Highly Specialist SLT also based on the unit. The role involves being an active member of the multidisciplinary stroke team and includes key working, participating in service developments, audits and service reviews. In addition you will be working collaboratively withother health and social care professionals in facilitating timely and safedischarges and appropriate onward referrals.
We are looking for a team player, who is flexible and enjoys working collaboratively. Your role will involve the assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with acquired dysphagia and communication impairments as a result of stroke. As well as providing support and clinical supervision to junior SLT staff and SLT students on clinical placements, you will also be an active member of the multidisciplinary team. This will include in service training, service developments, audits, and service reviews, as well as working closely with other health and social care professionals in facilitating timely and safe discharges and onward referrals to appropriate settings.
