The Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Band 3 Podiatry Assistant to join its Podiatry Department in Southport, specifically within the Sefton Community division. Candidates should possess an NVQ Level 3 in healthcare or equivalent experience, and must demonstrate effective communication skills to engage with patients, relatives, and carers sensitively. This role involves managing a caseload of delegated patients, including those at high risk, under the direction of registered podiatrists, while also collaborating with team members and advocating for the Podiatry Service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of evidence-based care, conducting limited diagnostic tests, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols. Additional responsibilities include participating in health promotion, mentoring staff, maintaining accurate patient records, and undertaking continuous professional development. The Podiatry Assistant will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of the community, contributing to health needs assessments, and facilitating self-care practices among patients.
