Job description

Come and join our Care Team and provide exceptional care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions at our Hospices and in the Community. Our service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. Julias House supports more than 140 families across Dorset and Wiltshire, in the community, at our hospices and in our families own homes. We have contracts for between 20-28 hours per week, so £15136 to £21191 per annum depending on hours, which works out to be an hourly rate of £14.55 per hour.
The successful candidate will be based at our Dorset Hospice in Corfe Mullen, working in the Hospice and across Dorset in the homes of the children and young people we look after. You will have the skills and experience required that will enable you to care for children and young people with complex health care needs, as well as supporting with End-of-Life care. You get the chance to spend time with children and their families, really getting to know them, and creating wonderful memories. As a Care Team Member, you will be supported through an induction process, and provided with any specialist training needed, to provide a high standard of care to the children and young people we look after. If you haven't already completed the Care Certificate, you will also be supported through this qualification as a requirement of the role.
About us
Provide a high standard of holistic Care (physical, emotional, social and spiritual), play and professional friendship to the child and their immediate and extended family, and to provide continuity of Care by working both in the community and the Julia's House Hospice as appropriate. Be involved in the planning and running of activity sessions, including the development and maintenance of activity packs, both in the Hospice and the Community Develop, monitor and maintain individualised programmes of activities in direct relation to the childs/young persons specific requirements. Work flexibly alongside the families, supporting them in the manner that they choose, as appropriate to the role of a Julias House Care Team Member. Take a proactive role in professional training and personal development. Promote and maintain close relations and liaison with all Care staff. Work within the appropriate regulatory bodies regulations and help to maintain accurate records of methods, evidence of policies and the monitoring of procedures for inspection.
