The Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant for the Pathology Specimen Reception Department at Frimley Park Hospital. In this role, candidates will support Blood Science duties by receiving, sorting, and preparing patient samples while ensuring accurate data entry into the Pathology computer system. Essential skills include excellent typing ability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and effective communication. While no formal qualifications are necessary, this position is not intended for recent graduates aiming to progress to Biomedical Scientist roles.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining efficient operations within the department, handling telephone inquiries, and collaborating closely with senior laboratory staff to minimize errors and ensure timely service delivery. Additional responsibilities include providing information on specimen collection procedures, managing patient inquiries, and greeting visitors professionally. Overall, the role aims to deliver a high-quality service in a dynamic environment that operates seven days a week, catering to a significant user base across multiple healthcare sectors.
