The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Anaesthetist with a focus on Neuroanaesthesia to join their extensive anaesthetic department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The ideal candidate should possess an FRCA or equivalent, with significant experience in general anaesthesia and a strong commitment to service development and positive departmental culture. This role involves providing anaesthetic care for a variety of complex cranial, spinal, and neurovascular procedures, including an established awake craniotomy service and a dedicated Neuroangiography suite.

Candidates will be expected to engage in a wide range of surgical specialties, participate in the on-call rotas for Neuroanaesthesia and Mechanical Thrombectomy, and oversee specialty preoperative outpatient clinics. Applicants should demonstrate experience with complex cases, neurotrauma management, and neurocritical care, alongside leadership skills and adaptability.
