The Specialist Maternal Mental Health Midwife role at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust involves supporting a new Perinatal Trauma and Loss Service aimed at integrating maternity care, reproductive health, and psychological therapy for women facing mental health challenges related to their maternity experiences, including trauma and loss. Based in Peterborough and covering nearby regions, this position includes assessing patients with severe mental health difficulties, delivering therapeutic interventions, managing birth planning, and providing training to maternity services to ensure trauma-informed care.

The role requires the post-holder to conduct mental health assessments, monitor risk, and offer evidence-based psychological interventions for individuals and groups. The Specialist Midwife will collaborate closely with local midwifery teams and a Principal Clinical Psychologist, while also promoting service integration to enhance the experiences of women enduring severe perinatal trauma and loss.
