As the Lead Nurse For Infection Prevention And Control (IPC), you will: Ensure the smooth running of all operational elements of an effective IPC service which includes: Surveillance, management and reporting of healthcare associated infections (HCAIs) and alert organisms Audit of clinical environment and practices related to IPC implementation of IPC policies and strategies Outbreak prevention and control Training of staff in IPC Development and implementation of IPC policies and strategies Reviewing and managing projects from the Board Assurance Framework Running IPC meetings with Link staff which then leads into the Quarterly meeting with the Microbiologist Carrying out Investigations when required

As an Infection Prevention Lead Nurse at our Chichester Hospital, you'll be registered with the appropriate governing body and you hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including NMC. With post-registration experience (at least two years in infection prevention and control), you're able to carry out investigations and root cause analysis, as well as advising the clinical team. As the Lead Nurse For Infection Prevention And Control (IPC), you will:

Ensure the smooth running of all operational elements of an effective IPC service which includes:

Surveillance, management and reporting of healthcare associated infections (HCAIs) and alert organisms

Audit of clinical environment and practices related to IPC implementation of IPC policies and strategies

Outbreak prevention and control

Training of staff in IPC

Development and implementation of IPC policies and strategies

Reviewing and managing projects from the Board Assurance Framework

Running IPC meetings with Link staff which then leads into the Quarterly meeting with the Microbiologist

Carrying out Investigations when required

The hospital has two laminar flow operating theatres, a JAG accredited endoscopy unit and two minor treatment rooms in the outpatient department. There is a small radiology department and CT/ MRI services are provided in a mobile unit. Inpatient physiotherapy is provided within the hospital whilst our outpatients attend the fitness and wellbeing centre at Chichester gate for their follow up physio and hydrotherapy treatments. Our main speciality is orthopaedics. We also care for patients needing treatment within the specialties of gynaecology, urology, general surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology max fax, and pain.
