An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic midwife to lead our pelvic health service at South Tees. The PPHS (Perinatal Pelvic Health Service) Midwife will be involved in the development and implementation of the PHHS service across both sites within South Tees. The post holder will be part of the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines for maternity service users within PPHS and will work towards developing a structured approach to delivering care and providing staff training, to ensure a comprehensive high quality PPHS service within maternity. This post is for internal candidates to South Tees Trust. If you are not currently working within the trust your application will not be reviewed and automatically rejected at shortlisting stage. To work with and support the Obstetric team in the day-to-day management of the OASI/Perineal Urogynae Perinatal Pelvic Health Service and to make significant contribution to the strategic direction of the OASIS and perineal trauma service. To implement and provide specialist evidence-based care for women with OASI, other childbirth related perineal trauma (CRPT) and pregnancy related bladder/bowel dysfunction. To act as a significant educational resource, to Midwives and trainees in OASI, CRPT and pregnancy related bladder/bowel dysfunction. To liaise with women's health physiotherapists in providing training to midwives on pelvic floor muscle exercises (PFME) in order that they can deliver appropriate preventive antenatal PFME guidance for the women that they care for. To lead in the development and promotion of Trust guidelines and protocols for women requiring perineal suturing and bladder care, OASI and PFME, adopting a multi professional approach. The PPHS Midwife will be expected to undertake clinical audit and provide educational support for healthcare professionals and students and be involved in research projects.
