Role Overview:
The Sterile Services Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe cleaning, decontamination, and sterilisation of reusable surgical instruments and equipment at Dartford Valley Hospital. This role supports the Trust in delivering high-quality patient care by providing sterile instruments to operating theatres and clinics.

Positions Available:

  • 2 Permanent Late Positions: Tuesday to Friday (12:00 pm - 8:00 pm) and Saturday (8:00 am - 4:00 pm).
  • 1 Internal Rotation Shift: Varied shifts from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm, including weekends (currently 1 weekend in 4 and 1 late shift in 4).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, sterilise, and pack clinical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate processing records for tracking instruments to patients.
  • Lift and manoeuvre heavy instrument trays and trolleys.
  • Participate in in-house training and undertake NVQ training as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manual dexterity is required due to heavy lifting involved.

Additional Information:

  • In-house training provided.
  • Shift work, including weekends and Bank Holidays, is required.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
