Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedic Clinical Nurse Specialist

30 hours per week, 9 month fixed-term (maternity cover)
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Paediatric Orthopaedic Clinical Nurse Specialist team for a fixed term, maternity leave cover, contract for 9 months. We would like the successful post-holder to start in November 2024. The role involves assisting with the provision of expert clinical care, support and advice for children and families/carers under the care of the paediatric trauma and orthopaedic service based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, throughout the care pathway, ensuring a seamless service for these patients. You will work alongside the established team of Band 7/6 Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic Nurse Specialists.
We are seeking a caring, motivated, reliable and dynamic nurse with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to contribute to the provision of an excellent standard of care to this patient group within the BRHC in-patient and out-patient setting as well as supporting families on discharge. You will need to have recent Band 5/6 experience of nursing children within the paediatric orthopaedic speciality.
The CNS will provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients and their families/carers throughout all aspects of the care pathway, to provide a seamless service. The CNS will work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic, high quality, evidence-based care to children and their families with trauma/orthopaedic conditions, including pre-operatively, during in-patient stays, in the clinic setting and supporting patients and families on discharge. The post-holder will provide leadership, clinical expertise, education and support to patients and their families / carer, hospital based professionals as well as being a resource for colleagues in community settings, and will be actively involved in audit and research.
