The role of Domestic Assistant at Northampton General Hospital involves maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in accordance with the Trust's Cleaning Plan and the National Standards of Cleanliness. The position requires adherence to specific cleaning frequencies and schedules while ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures. Domestic Assistants are expected to interact courteously with patients, clients, visitors, and other staff, effectively communicating safety instructions and maintaining the security of the premises.

Key responsibilities include monitoring cleanliness, disposing of waste correctly, undertaking specified cleaning tasks, and maintaining hygiene to prevent cross-infection. Flexibility to support other work areas as directed by supervisors is needed, along with the safe operation and maintenance of cleaning machinery. Furthermore, Domestic Assistants are encouraged to contribute to service enhancements and report any safety incidents in line with Trust procedures.
