The role of Mental Health Act Administration Assistant at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in Chester involves supporting the Mental Health Law Team in the effective administration of the Mental Health Act (MHA) and the Mental Capacity Act, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Key responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive records for MHA administration, monitoring legal timeframes, advising clinicians on necessary actions, and coordinating hearings related to the First-Tier Tribunal and Independent Review Panels, as well as overseeing the accurate documentation of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards usage.
