The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a registered Health Play Specialist for its Children's Unit at The Princess Royal Hospital, catering to children and young people with various medical and mental health needs. The role involves providing developmental and therapeutic play techniques to support emotional, social, and developmental needs, helping to alleviate trauma associated with hospital procedures. The specialist will work both as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently, utilizing expertise in child development and play therapy to prepare children for medical treatments, offer distraction during procedures, and support families in navigating the healthcare environment.
