We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Inpatient Mental Health  team at HMP Present, a category B Prison located in Preston. 

HMP Preston is a remand male prison age from 18 + and a capacity of 680. 

The Mental Health Nurse will be based in the 18 bedded unit based as a prison environment. 


Hours:

This is a permanent full time position based on 37.5 hours per week Monday - Sunday working various day shifts form 7.30am - 8pm 


Salary:

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary is between £33,232 - £40,211 - depending on experience.

As a Mental Heath Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
  • Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
  • Provide outstanding evidence
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care
